The LIGHTNING SELECT is Mizuno's new shoe for newer players and the successor to the Thunder Blade Z. Mizuno designed it after its top Wave Lightning Elite, with a simpler, lighter build: about 260 g for a 27.0 cm shoe.

• New three-layer upper — seamless, wrapping the foot with a soft, comfortable feel.
• Flat "outrigger" sole — an extended outer edge for stability in lateral moves and sudden stops.
• Non-marking outsole for indoor courts.
• Removable cup insole and a last that fits roughly 2.5E width.
