MAGIC SPEED is ASICS' carbon-plated shoe for speed sessions and races — and for many runners, their first carbon shoe. Generation 5 launched in Japan in January 2026 and is sized unisex.

What is new in generation 5

• About 50 g lighter than MAGIC SPEED 4 (27.0 cm).
• Lower heel stack (about 43.5 → 37.5 mm) for a quicker, more direct feel.
• New dual midsole: FF LEAP on top for rebound and FF BLAST PLUS below for stability, with a redesigned carbon plate.

Who is it for?

Runners who want a light, responsive shoe for tempo work and races from 5 km to the half marathon, for far less than top-tier racers.
