Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliates the skin. This 7% toning solution provides gentle exfoliation to improve skin radiance and visibly clarify the complexion.

The formula also works to improve the appearance of skin texture with continued use.

This formula contains a studied Tasmanian pepperberry derivative. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in color seasonally, and this color variation may be noticeable in the formula from time to time. The formula is also supported by the inclusion of ginseng root and aloe vera for visible radiance and soothing benefits for the skin.

Contraindications: This formula should not be used on sensitive, flaky, or compromised skin. Please refer to the additional sun protection note and other warnings in the instructions provided.

The pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic acid has a pKa of 3.6, and pKa is the most important aspect to consider when forming acids. pKa indicates the availability of the acid. When the pKa is close to the pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, which increases the acid's effectiveness and reduces irritation. Higher pH numbers in such a case might increase the salt content, making the formula more irritating than if the formula were more acidic.

Note: While exfoliating acids can produce quick, visible benefits, we generally recommend indirect forms of skin exfoliation over direct forms like this formula due to the potential inflammation and sensitivity associated with acids. How to use

Ideally, use in the evening, no more than once a day. After cleansing, saturate a cotton pad with the formula and wipe over the face and neck. Do not use on sensitive, flaky, or compromised skin. Avoid the eye area and contact with the eyes. Do not rinse. Continue with additional skin treatments as needed. Contact of the product with the skin should be of limited frequency or duration. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. A patch test is recommended before use. Keep out of reach of children.
