Product description

This study came to trace the days of the Khawlan tribe, its news, its poetry recitations, and to learn about its beliefs, and to gather what was scattered of its poetry; because studying it contributes to uncovering a facet of our Arab heritage's pearls. This tribe was in ancient times a large tribe whose influence extended over many parts of Yemen, especially in the pre-Islamic era. However, the Khawlan tribe did not enjoy fame and widespread recognition; rather, it was abbreviated in scholars' writings regarding its lineage, and many of its news were overlooked. This study is divided into two parts; the first includes the origin of the tribe, its lineage, its days, its relationships, and its poetry, with topics limited to enthusiasm, pride, and lacking description, elegy, satire, wisdom, and praise; all of this due to the inclination of its people toward a life of war and conflict. It also discusses the artistic characteristics in both verbal and substantive aspects. The second part is the collection of poetry that includes the tribe's poetry from the pre-Islamic era until the end of the Umayyad period, with each poet presented with a translation revealing his lineage, news, and identifying his time, along with highlighting the themes of the poetry they addressed.
