Product description
The book of the poetry of the Azd in the pre-Islamic era is a new addition to the anthology of Arabic poetry, especially the poetry of tribes; because of the prominent position of the large Azd tribe among the Arabs, as it includes several famous tribes. It has been customary in investigations of tribal poetry that the material covers the pre-Islamic era, the early Islamic era, and the Umayyad era, but in this book, preference was given to collecting material solely from the pre-Islamic era; due to the multiplicity of the Azd tribes and the scattered poetic material. This book begins with documenting the history of the Azd in the pre-Islamic era; including the genealogies of the Azd tribes, their most important men, their places of spread, and their political, economic, social, and religious lives, all in the first section of the book. The other section is the anthology of the Azd in the pre-Islamic era, which includes the poetry of Azd poets from this era who are not famous, and whose collections of poetry have not been published. However, it does not include the major Azd poets whose collections have previously been compiled or whose manuscripts have reached us, such as Hassan ibn Thabit al-Khuzaji.
