The separated article in what between wisdom and Shariah of connection is an Islamic philosophical article written by the Muslim Andalusian and philosopher Ibn Rushd (1126-1198) which in it "examines the alleged tension between philosophy and religion" and concludes that philosophy in truth (specifically, Aristotelian philosophy) is not opposed but in fact works alongside Islamic philosophy. In the article, Ibn Rushd argues that some Muslims are obliged to study philosophy, and that this subject should be considered an Islamic science. The article also contains many other unique ideas, including Ibn Rushd's assertion that "the Quran should sometimes be read in a non-literal way." And according to William Theodore de Bary and Ainslie Embree, "the harmony of religions and philosophy" represents "a classic attempt to reconcile religion and philosophy."
