Product description
The story of "Bad Weather" revolves around the story of Herman, and it also falls within the atmosphere of exclusion that characterizes Nday's novels, as it depicts the impossibility or extreme difficulty of communication. However, a small mistake behind a broad tragedy is developed by the novel: Herman, a mathematics teacher, his wife Rose, and their young son are accustomed to vacationing in this small village depicted in the novel, located not far from Paris. For an unknown reason, they delay returning to Paris at the end of August exactly, just like other vacationers. And as soon as September begins, the weather changes and worsens, and the village's character transforms with the departure of the vacationers who survive on their summer visits, revealing its true face.
The bad weather and the change in the villagers' behavior strongly complement each other, and the first almost symbolizes or justifies the second. Early one morning, the wife and her son go to buy eggs from a nearby farm and then do not return. After a long search full of surprises, which takes up space in this novel, Herman discovers that they stayed in the village but experienced a transformation or absorption.
Despite the work's proximity to Paris, the residents, with their physical features and mysterious blonde hair, seem far from the capital's inhabitants in their different components and origins. However, the setting here is somewhat realistic and somewhat fantastical at the same time. And this tragedy could happen anywhere.
