Brief about the book:
This study attempts to remove some of the ambiguity surrounding the term "secularism" which has become one of the most important terms in analytical discourse, and to arrive at a comprehensive definition characterized by high interpretive ability. The author distinguishes between what he calls "partial secularism" (separation) of religion from the state with a commitment to silence regarding final issues, and "comprehensive secularism" which separates human, moral, and religious values from life in its public and private aspects, and removes sanctity from humans and nature so that the entire world turns into an instrumental material employed by the stronger for their own benefit.
The study consists of two volumes; the first covers the theoretical dimensions of the problematic of secularism and the prevailing definitions of the term and concept of secularism. It also traces the reasons for the emergence of secularism in Western societies and the factors leading to its spread in most modern societies.
The study in the second volume moves from theory to application, namely to the processes of comprehensive secularization, which are essentially a re-formation of society in light of the materialist model. This volume does not limit itself to generalizations but also delves into the world of specific details.
