Product description

This book was dedicated to collecting the poetry of the poets of Banu Murojan in Al-Andalus, verifying it, and studying it; as their poetry was of importance that prompted scholars in ancient times to compile it into separate books, but the hand of time greatly damaged many of those sources, which led a group of researchers to return to collecting, studying, and analyzing these poems. Their work was a good effort, but it needed to be reconsidered; therefore, this study covered the period starting from the entry of Banu Murojan into Al-Andalus until the cessation of news about their poets there at the end of the sixth Hijri century. At the beginning of the research, the history of Banu Murojan and the political, intellectual, and social conditions that Al-Andalus went through were examined, as those conditions had an influence on the output of the individuals living there. Their poetry was a truthful mirror reflecting the conditions of the era in which they lived. This research was divided into two parts; the first addressed the artistic study, including rhetorical images, figurative expressions, the external structure of the poem, and an explanation of the methodology followed by the poets of Banu Murojan, including political poetry, praise, pride, love poetry, description, asceticism, wisdom, and other various purposes. The second part included biographies of the poets and their poetry.
