Product description
Circumstances force Azhar to work as a saleswoman in a perfume and cosmetics shop called Sadr. There she is exposed to another world she did not expect; the world of customers, relationships between salespeople, and the life of the mall. Azhar discovers, as she gets to know her divorced colleague and the strikingly beautiful Raneem, and her other colleague Ghalia who works in a lingerie shop, that the mall is a refuge for lost souls, as if it were a resting place in the lives of those who visit or work there.
The novel also takes us to Azhar's strange house; her mother, who since her father's death has been in a state of obesity increasing day by day to the point that she cannot walk. Her little sister, who hides her secrets despite being in a very big problem, and her two brothers who stipulated that she be monitored so she could work at Sadr, and Youssef who watches her every day.
Azhar cannot forget her father who spent many years driving his van to deliver teachers to their schools. She also cannot keep up with the playful personality of Raneem, nor Ghalia. As if her loss of her father cannot be compensated for, and with his departure, all the sweet days Azhar lived through have gone forever.
How will Azhar, this character busy with nostalgia, live? And what will the angry mirror hanging on one of the walls of Sadr say about her, that talking magic mirror?
