The book / Rawdat al-‘Uqlaa and Nuzhat al-Fudala, by the author / Abu Hatim ibn Hibban, addresses a number of manners and morals that should be possessed by the wise and the virtuous, in a style that combines wisdom and admonition. The book reviews the qualities of the mind, the virtues of knowledge, manners of companionship, the value of silence, and the condemnation of backbiting, and includes wise sayings and sayings of the predecessors. This work is considered one of the heritage books that are rich in behavioral guidance, and reflects an integrated Islamic perspective in self-purification and community reform.
