Pragmatics its roots and its orientations

Although pragmatics has attracted the interest of scholars and became an important epistemological event during the second half of the twentieth century, books and journals are dedicated to it, tables and seminars are held for it, and studies, research, and articles are written about it... this has not entirely dispelled the many issues accompanying this field of knowledge. Therefore, we dedicated this modest study to achieving three goals: the first goal is to clarify the confusion about pragmatics, through defining it, and explaining the context of its emergence; the second revolves around delving into the intersection of pragmatics with other fields of knowledge, especially analytical philosophy, artificial intelligence, communication theories, and semiotics... As for the last goal, it focuses on identifying the topics of pragmatics, its areas of concern starting with deixis, passing through speech acts, and reaching what it has achieved in opening up to the fields of cognitive sciences and argumentation.
