Product description

The importance of this book lies in its coverage of three of the most prominent figures in Arab thought: the satirical philosopher ((Al-Ma'arri)), the rebellious poet ((Al-Rassafi)), and the distinguished writer ((Taha Hussein)). When we present these figures to our esteemed readers, we aim to offer them a beautiful literary image that includes the ideas of three dear creators to their souls, who have a long-standing experience in the field of social renewal. In 1939 AD, Professor Taha Hussein published a book titled ((With Abu Al-Alaa in His Prison)), in which he explained in simple language a valid collection of Abu Al-Alaa's opinions and doctrines in his life, and justified them according to his own perception and conviction. In 1942 AD, Al-Rassafi read this book and did not agree with some of his conclusions and explanations, so he wrote a letter in response to Professor Taha Hussein, explaining Abu Al-Alaa's opinions and doctrines in his life as he perceived them, and justified this with many logical proofs. In Abu Al-Alaa’s opinions, as in his art, poetry, and prose, there are precious pearls of great weight and invaluable value, which also have the greatest relevance to major human issues that clash on the social life arena everywhere and at all times. Therefore, it was better to give these issues full attention and study them in a way that brings their concepts closer to Arab cultural understanding and enables the audience to benefit from them… and this is the most valuable and deserving. We have worked on organizing the book through a study of the poet and researcher Ma'ruf Al-Rassafi, authored by Professor Muhammad Ali Al-Zarqa, followed by the book of Ma'ruf Al-Rassafi, supplemented with Taha Hussein’s book. We hope that this work will be beneficial for researchers, scholars, and esteemed readers.
