Why this female dog in particular

Rami has a strange and amazing determination he could have chosen from a group of wonderful dogs but he chose the scared female dog standing in front of Dr. Fawzi's shop. I wonder what the reason is? This is the story of a little boy who knows what he wants, and a female dog rejected by everyone. It is a story about the true meaning of love, giving, kindness to animals... and also humans.
