Product description
We aim, through this new reading, to reposition Spinoza's anthropology and his politics within his overall system, and to demonstrate how they, instead of being separated from it or replacing the footnote, merge into it and form an element of its structural components. We start from the hypothesis that Spinozism, far from being merely "theosophy," is also an anthropological and political doctrine... Our purpose is to investigate Spinoza's doctrine and to include his political discourse within it, to show that the political project is not secondary or incidental but rather merges into the central core (Ethics) even if the political discourse is presented in side writings (the theological-political treatise and the political treatise). We want to look at what the texts reveal, the actual achievement of the doctrine, and the structure of the entire system: to look for the existence of a philosophical political system in Spinoza. And this political philosophy cannot be reduced to mere ideas about politics; rather, it is based on contemplating the essential nature of the political itself.
