Product description

Arthur John Waffle, this amusing and light-hearted British traveler, lived for a period of his life in Mombasa city in Kenya near Zanzibar on the East African coast, made a journey in 1908 to Mecca and wore Muslim clothes and adopted the nickname (Hajj Ali Al-Zanjibari), he narrated entertaining accounts of his journey within an enjoyable framework of adventures and funny situations, with a vivid and accurate description of all the areas he visited, and it is worth mentioning that he adhered to neutrality, respect, and objectivity in what he wrote. He was the last European traveler to visit the honored cities before the end of Ottoman rule over them, but he soon met his death in Africa after eight years of his journey, during fighting with German forces in World War I; a rare and unique book worth reading.
