Product description

The book "Tawq al-Hamama" is originally a message written by Ibn Hazm while residing in the city of "Shatiba." Ibn Hazm composed this message at the request of a beloved friend who visited him in "Shatiba" and asked him to compile a "message about the nature of love, its meanings, causes, symptoms, and what happens in it, and what he personally experiences." Ibn Hazm fulfilled his friend's wish out of love for him — as he says — while feeling some hesitation about writing a message on the topic of love and entertainment. Ibn Hazm then set about composing the message, limiting himself to what he knew and experienced from events, incidents, and situations, avoiding the excesses of imagination and the illusions of storytellers, and surpassing the stories of lovers, the deeds of beloveds, and their pains that are abundant in the stories of the Arabs.
