Towards a humble prayer

Indeed, acts of worship have a kingdom and an inner reality, so Hajj is not, for example, just these outward movements performed by the pilgrims, nor is prayer's inner reality just these physical movements. The narrations of the Prophet and his family (peace be upon them) point—either from afar or close—to this truth. Perhaps this remarkable hadith in its content sheds light on this truth; it was narrated from Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) that he said: [If the praying person knew what covers him from the majesty of Allah, he would not be pleased to lift his head from his prostration]. We aimed in this booklet—with God's grace—to help the noble reader to perceive the signs of turning to Allah, in the most sacred movement in existence, which is the humble prayer that is the desire of the righteous friends of Allah.
