Mananasi again. We had an unforgettable enjoyable experience last year with this distinguished harvest which has become an icon for Sueil Roastery. It comes to you from an altitude of up to 1900 meters above sea level, in fertile and ideal land for growing coffee cherries in Uganda, specifically in Kinja Kianza district. The story of Mananasi begins when the “Great Lex Coffee” team conducted a unique social experiment worth telling, as the team decided to work seriously to improve the quality of coffee from an area that was known for producing low-quality Arabica coffee at a cheap price compared to similar regions in Uganda. They sought to develop a special program to train farmers, where the trained team aims to establish farms with a leadership role in the community and provide intensive and in-depth training courses in agricultural engineering, processing methods, and harvesting. Afterwards, 35 members of small farmers are appointed for each leading farm, and these small groups are rewarded financially based on the unit, so the higher the quality of the beans, the higher the group's earnings. The leading farmer receives an additional reward for the doubled training he provides to his colleagues as an incentive and a guarantee of the knowledge he efficiently transfers during training. The Red Cherry program is the next phase of quality improvement, gradually implemented over recent years. This program primarily focuses on quality first and foremost by guiding farmers to pick only ripe cherries. Then, the coffee is dried on raised beds, and after the coffee is fully dried, it is sent to the processing station to remove all possible defects in the coffee to ensure a clean and pure cup of coffee.
