Because she reads

Because she reads, poet Khaled bin Muttalib's new poetry collection "Because she reads" with an introduction that is like a passport to cross the text or cross the heart that confesses and finds relief from the overflow of its fatigue, "They say I am crazy for love!/ And I say, does love return to the mind?/ Love is nothing but the instinct of every heart/ And every heart rules over the mind.." The poet wanted to derive from poetry the relationship between the genders, spiritually and physically, and pour it into a poetic text that expresses the foreshadowings, feelings, and groans contained within a single sense that unites it in a text characterized by poeticism in all its verses and pure, sincere expressions of feelings towards the other gender. "If you were not my beloved I would not have abandoned women,/ and I would have turned my back on the Arabs and given up my dreams,/ and sung with the Gypsies/ and my greatest concern would be to find the art of dance. If you were not my beloved I would not have learned the secret of the pen,/ and the pride of the letter and how papers sacrifice,/ and how I get a kiss from you in exchange for a poem,/ and how I compete with Nizar in my poems (...)". With this sweet confession, the poet loses himself in his passion, longing, and madness, and he skillfully expresses this in poetry, presenting a unique model that takes us back to an important part of what poets have traditionally done in their dialogues and debates, which have remained immortal to this day. The collection includes 45 free verse poems in modern Arabic poetry, titled as follows: "Do not love a girl who does not love writing," "Eyes of women," "To things," "There is hope," "Do not call her by one name," "Barriers before absence," "If only!," "Shyness," (...) and other poems.
