A shadow from nothing

A shadow of the abyss we do not believe in the unknown except when it knocks on our doors, and we do not believe in danger except when it extends its hand to hold our necks. And we do not fear stories until they come out from between the lines and speak our names. It was not a magic recited, nor a cursed inheritance, but human curiosity! A crack was opened in the wall of the world through which what has no name seeped, and what has no right to exist, and perhaps only... that curiosity... will be the first thread in the fabric of the end. An end whose features we do not know... but that curiosity itself will be what begins the journey to another world.
