Before increasing the grades

Before the increase of marks: Author: Senturan Faratraj Language: Arabic Publication date: 2024 Book format: Paperback Publisher: Aseer Books for Translation, Publishing, and Distribution Number of pages: 200 Description: Coincidence pushes PhD student Sentil Vasutivan - who lives in Berlin - to start a conversation via Facebook with Valmira Zuroi, who studies art history in Marburg. Over seven days, they exchange talks about their lives without meeting. Their messages revolve around their family situations, the journey fleeing from civil wars, and their childhoods in refugee shelters. The geographical map of the novel opens from Sri Lanka to Albania, from Germany to America and Britain and Japan, passing through India and Turkey and Norway to discuss the ideas of homeland and arrival, remembrance and forgetfulness, and the holes carried by the autobiography that only become apparent after some time. With beautiful language leaning towards poeticism, the author succeeds in his first novel in expressing loss, refuge, and new beginnings. The marks increase throughout the conversation to discover the hero of the novel the emptiness that is difficult to contain through language.
