Street plant

Street Plant: Author: Wijdan Hussein, Wiam Hussein Language: Arabic Publication date: 2020 Book format: Paperback Publisher: Center of Arab Literature for Publishing and Distribution Number of pages: 272 Book category: Short stories and Novels Description: Do you remember how we used to draw squares on the sidewalk with chalk then take turns jumping on them to follow a small stone back and forth, without caring about our feet stepping on the wild plants that grew from cracks in the cement? Maybe in another life, we were street plants created to hide all disasters, and a truce with the world, plants that hurricanes did not swallow, nor feet that trample their heads, and whenever they tried to uproot them, they grew beyond the narrow cracks, as if it was the only act they were born for.
