Clouds

Clouds: Author: Juan Jose Saer Language: Arabic Publication date: 2024 Book format: Paperback Publisher: Dar Aseer Al-Kutub for Translation, Publishing, and Distribution Number of pages: 176 Description: "Clouds" tells the story of a young psychiatrist in 1804, leading five madmen towards a mental hospital, setting out from Santa Fe towards Buenos Aires. He is accompanied by a caravan of thirty-six people: madmen, prostitutes, members of the Gaucho, and a procession of soldiers, crossing the plains and avoiding all kinds of obstacles. In that false epic, which takes place in the infinite scene of the plain and before the young doctor's scientific perspective, Juan Jose Saer embeds the fundamental principles of his writing: his thoughts on time, space, history, and the limited reliability of the tools we rely on—consciousness and memory—in understanding reality.
