If you are going to do something completely clumsy, it will be the first to shout: "Hold on, you fool, don't put your head in that flame!". But that same critic may discourage you. Your desire to be an opera singer or an anesthesiologist or your desire to run a marathon, or lose twenty pounds, or drive a submarine deep, or tell your mother you love her... are not fires to avoid; rather, they are a flame you must increase its burning. So why then does this protective voice consider these good dreams threats regularly and prevent you from pursuing them? Why are you much better at suppressing your creative ideas than realizing them? And what if you could change that?
