Mice crying in the darkness

Author: Mohamed Fouad Al-Masri Category: Short Stories and Novels Publisher: Dark Publishing and Distribution Year of Publication: 2025 Number of Pages: 202 Cover Design: Paperback About the novel: You will feel anxious if one day you wake up to find that the inhabitants of your city are disappearing without a trace, but you will surely panic and the fuse of madness inside your mind will ignite when you learn that the missing have become something else, something different from the human self and the human form, something closer to rats in a dull city teeming with strange phenomena where frightening shadows emerge from the walls and dark feelings manifest as supernatural specters. The fates of the characters in the novel intersect; between a detective searching for the truth, a man burdened with scars of past sins seeking redemption, a mesmerized man who sees what others cannot see, and a serial killer returning to life. Fates intertwine in a journey of searching for different goals, and the only hope for everyone remains embodied in an awaited testimony in the courtroom, but the witness is a rat who must speak.
