With regular training, most people were able to surpass a rate of 200 words per minute to a rate of 400 words per minute, as is the difference between an elementary school student and a graduate student. Successful students who took the tachistoscope test expressed their dissatisfaction with their result after several weeks of reaching the reading stage of "graduate student," and most reported that, shortly after their educational course ended, their reading speed again dropped to its previous level. Again, this is similar to returning to the average reader rate.
