Author: Mohammed Aljarhiy Publication date: 2023 Book classification: Short story and novel Publisher: Dar Kitab Number of pages: 299 Format: Paperback Summary: - "Majdoline" novel is one of the most wonderful works presented by Arabic literature at the beginning of the twentieth century, and it is not just a love story, but a deep elegy for noble human values in the face of material tyranny, and a timeless journey in exploring the human soul with all its contradictions. The novel revolves around a core idea: the tragedy of ideal love in a world governed by materialism, where "Stephen" represents the axis of spirituality and pure love, while "Majdoline" represents the human heart that swings between this spiritual love and the temptations of wealth and status represented by her other fiancé "Edwar". The novel reveals how they both overcome difficulties together, despite their social and cultural differences.
