Product description
Star Jasmine Cuttings Trachelospermum jasminoides This plant has a very dense flowering and fast growth, and can cover a full canopy and more. It is called star jasmine although it is not from the jasmine family. Early in the morning, it refreshes you with a fragrant, captivating scent. Star jasmine is a fragrant, climbing plant, widely cultivated in the southeast. Its diverse nature makes it a wonderful plant for many environments.
Star jasmine has always been associated with the south, but this plant is not native to the southeast, and it is not a true jasmine. Its native homeland is China, and it is scientifically known as Trachelospermum jasminoides.
In early spring and summer, star jasmine produces clusters of small white flowers resembling small windmills (or stars). Despite their small size, their fragrant scent easily perfumes an entire yard.
Star jasmine is a fast-growing climbing plant that can be grown on lampposts, trellises, or arbors. It easily sneaks through wire fences and forms a beautiful, evergreen barrier. It only climbs stone walls if a support structure is added.
Be cautious when planting star jasmine near trees, as its active branches can quickly reach heights that are difficult to prune.
Some sources recommend planting star jasmine as ground cover, but remember that it grows vigorously and may not be suitable for all conditions. Asian jasmine (T. asiaticum) is a great alternative for ground cover, although it rarely flowers.
Cultivation and Care

Star jasmine can be grown throughout Florida, preferably in well-drained areas exposed to full or partial sun. Plants grown in full sun produce the most flowers.
Ensure enough space for the plants, as vines can grow twenty feet or more if left unpruned. Trimming the tips encourages branching and a fuller plant.
Star jasmine responds well to pruning and can be shaped into a small hedge or trellis. The plant’s sap is very sticky and can stain clothes, so make sure to clean tools and any dirty clothes immediately after pruning.
Star jasmine is relatively pest-free and drought-resistant, making it a great plant for many southern landscapes.
