Sunset Prisoner - Ayman Hafez

In "Prisoner of Sunset," the Saudi writer Ayman Hafiz takes us between childhood burdened with dreams, and youth drawn to exile and questions, reaching Istanbul which tempts him with new beginnings, but also brings back faces of the past and the pain of the present. Every page carries a cloud of longing, and every chapter opens a door to a deeper maze: lost friendship, love swinging between imagination and reality, renewed faith amidst setbacks, and a life dissipating between train stations, café sounds, and the heart's confusion before a mysterious woman named "Sadeem." This is not a novel about escape as much as it is about the prisons we create with our own hands. The prisons of dreams when they surpass reality, and the prisons of sunset when they turn into an eternal appointment with sorrow. "Prisoner of Sunset" is a sad novel that speaks of love, exile, and the frantic search for a place for the soul in a world that never stops fading.
