Pyrontal Intestinal Worming Tablets for Cats

Broad-spectrum veterinary tablets for the treatment and control of intestinal worms in cats. The two active ingredients target the roundworms and tapeworms listed in the supplied leaflet.

Features and indications

• For cats: Treatment and control of gastrointestinal nematodes and cestodes.
• Dual active ingredients: Praziquantel and pyrantel embonate.
• Oral administration: Tablets may be given directly or mixed with food, according to the leaflet.

Composition per tablet

• Praziquantel: 20 mg.
• Pyrantel embonate: 230 mg.
• Excipients sufficient to make one tablet.

• Cestodes: Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Echinococcus spp.

Dosage and administration

1. Weigh your cat accurately before use and consult a veterinarian to determine the appropriate dose for its condition.
2. The leaflet specifies one tablet per 4 kg body weight, equivalent to praziquantel 5 mg/kg and pyrantel embonate 57.5 mg/kg.
3. For oral administration only. Give directly by mouth or mix with food.
4. Repeat treatment as recommended by the veterinarian. The leaflet does not specify a fixed retreatment interval.

Contraindications

• Do not use in kittens under 6 weeks of age.
• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients.
• These instructions apply to the pictured cat formulation; do not use them to determine a dose for dogs.

Pregnancy and lactation

The leaflet permits use during lactation. Use during pregnancy only according to the veterinarian’s benefit/risk assessment.

Possible adverse reactions

Mild, transient gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhoea may occasionally occur after administration. Contact a veterinarian if symptoms persist or are severe.

• Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
• Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children and away from food and feed materials.
