Stefan Zweig still, in his various novels, amazes readers with his skill in diving into what stirs in the depths of the human soul from minute feelings and delicate sensations. Sunday was not a day of rest and prayer during this "wonderful night," but rather a day for establishing the entity and reshaping the self away from the dust of bourgeois belonging. A day for the hero of this story to escape deformity and distortion when he was cursed with awareness of loneliness and feeling of alienation amidst crowds. So he searched among the simple and other creatures for moving mirrors in which he could discover parts of himself he did not know through the flat mirror of withdrawal, until awareness of the essence of the self and understanding of its infinite world opened the hero's self. From it, a flow of life spread among people, and he then announced that he was alive and that a person must first know himself to know all humans.
