Who picks the fruits of change?

Fanaticism is a monster that destroys all harmony, an closed-minded intellectual system that threatens all humanity. This is one of the principles of the philosophy of Erasmus, the right teacher. But does the thinker in violent political crises suffice with retreating behind his desk and maintaining cold neutrality to be a friend of society, or must he voice his stance even if it leads him to the path of the slaughter?
