The dawn of Greek philosophy before Socrates

Product description

Human thought is indivisible, its links are connected, and it develops from the past to the present so that none of the modern schools emerge except when they return to their original sources from which they arose. And the more you go back to the origin, the more you see that you need to refer to the previous origin to understand it, and the chain continues until you reach the first origin from which philosophy sprang; which, as you know, is a Greek term invented by the Greeks to denote this type of thinking. The first origin of philosophy, in the sense we have agreed upon, appeared in Greece in the sixth century BC, and continued to grow until it reached its peak with Socrates, then Plato, and Aristotle. Interest in studying Greek philosophy was renewed because of its influence on modern philosophy since the Renaissance, when the works of ancient historians such as Plutarch, Stobaeus, and Diogenes Laertius were discovered. Greek doctrines were revived, and Renaissance philosophers followed their example.
