Product description

The articles in this book, are graduated and complex, and are based on two ideas considered main for all the articles. The two ideas are based on Western forms of democracy and Western capitalism, and both have a relation to Western psychology. The first idea relates to the desire to consume: that people are in a constant, often tragic, state of longing, from the moment of separation from the mother, which makes the poorest Americans, who have no savings, and small income, borrow until death. And this longing, or desire, drives consumption. There is only one way to begin understanding this broad, pleasurable, painful, and finally destructive motive, which is to simply understand that we have a desire, and the word desire appears regularly in these articles. The second idea that these articles are based on is the Western concept of the self, especially the isolated self, and the anxious self.
