Product description

Those other animals by George Alfred Henty ... this book offers a unique reading experience that takes the reader on a journey between science, literature, history, and politics, as well as presenting a vivid piece of thought from a phase that is still dominant over nations and individuals to this day; where it invents a new form of animal, insect, and other creature stories, and projects onto humans most of their traits. And as is the case in the heritage of animal stories, starting from Kalila and Dimna, politics are always present on the level of individuals, groups, and nations. However, Henty targets a "myth" that appeared in his time in the second half of the nineteenth century and became so widespread that it gained sanctity, which is the Darwinian theory of evolution. He does not explicitly call it a myth; but he leaves no chance to undermine it when describing the animals, birds, insects, and marine creatures he presents. The description of the myth comes from comparison.
