Product description

The book "The Book of Illusions" which many critics considered the best work written by Austere, tells the story of David Zimer, a professor at Vermont University, who loses his wife and two young children in a plane crash, and spends his days floundering in a life of grief, alcohol, and self-pity, until a turning point occurs in his life when he is watching television one day, and he comes across a clip from a missing film made by the comedian Hector Man from the silent film era. Zimer's curiosity is stirred, and he quickly finds himself embarking on a journey around the world in search of the book by the owner of that mysterious character who disappeared from sight in 1929, and it was assumed for 60 years that he had died. After a year of the book's publication, Zimer receives a letter from a small town in New Mexico, inviting him to meet Hector, and he hesitates between doubt and belief, until one night a strange woman appears in front of his house, and she makes the decision on his behalf, changing his life forever. Many newspapers in America and London considered this novel to be beautifully written, and an engaging work characterized by mental brilliance, especially since Hector's character is an inspiring and more realistic creative than many actors on earth.
