This is the third book and the conclusion of the collection "Religion of Modesty," titled "The Spirit of the Veil." In it, Dr. Taha Abdul Rahman addresses the accusations directed at the veil, responds to them, and refutes them. His critique is based on a fundamental idea that the veil is a symbol of modesty and its outward appearance. In the first chapter, the author explains the relationship between the veil and appearance, and the claims of opponents that the veil is a garment of fame, display, showing off, harm, and hostility toward the society in which the veiled woman lives. He responds to each claim, highlighting the contradictions and illogicality of the proponents and the inversion of their concepts. In the second chapter, he explains its relation to belief, as the opponents of the veil rely on the idea that it violates the principle of secularism to prevent women from wearing it in public places and various institutions. The author refutes their arguments and claims about secularism from the outset, then discredits their assertions of humiliation and oppression of women and the political use of the veil to occupy public space. In the third chapter, the author discusses the relationship between the veil and psychoanalysis, as approached by Freud and Lacan. In truth, what I read in this chapter about psychoanalysis and some of its hypotheses shocked me with the superficiality and ugliness of these hypotheses. In the fourth chapter, the author explains the relationship between the veil and a society that has been invaded by commodification and display, and the suffering of the veiled woman from accusations and slanders directed at her, which contradict her means and goals altogether. In the final chapter, the author discusses the relationship between the veil and the illusory loss, by describing the veil as a shield for women and a safeguard from their Creator, and through his profound view of the relationship between husband and wife in light of the veil, and how the veil elevates both the man and the woman to the heights of perfection.
