Product description
This book presents a new approach to the subject of discourse, represented in studying its structure, relationships, and its place within the comprehensive philosophical path of the French philosopher Michel Foucault (1926-1984). Based on this, we analyzed, compared, and critiqued various issues related to discourse and its relationship with language, knowledge, power, ethics, and contemporary philosophical currents, especially German hermeneutic philosophy and Anglo-Saxon analytical philosophy. We clarified, based on the philosopher's texts, the transition process he made from language as a possibility for penetration and resistance to discourse as a power governed by a set of external, internal, and functional procedures, which are linked to discursive and non-discursive practices in historical discursive formations, with the aim of critically diagnosing present problems and issues. The book, in its subject and style, is directed to professors, researchers, and students in the field of human sciences, especially in contemporary philosophy, philosophy of language, literary criticism, history, sociology, media, and political sciences.
