Product description

The importance of this book lies in linking Freemasonry to European deist thought and to the deifying ideas that paved the way for the emergence of the Age of Enlightenment. The book refutes the falsehoods that spread in Arabic texts about Freemasonry and its complex history, and at the same time, it dismisses the Masonic narrative that traces its origins back to about 2500 BC, demonstrating that it is a modern craft society among the societies known in Europe during the Middle Ages. The author compares European craft guilds with Arab craft sects, then makes an additional comparison between Arab atheists and their ideas, and European deists, in an inductive context through which we discover the differences between Arab atheism, which denied prophethood but not the Creator, and European deism, which did not deny the Creator but denied the miracles in the Bible. The aim of this book is to clarify what is confusing regarding Arab Freemasonry, which had no political significance for them, and the goal is to defend science, attempt to restore history to its proper context, and offer a critical contribution to understanding the motives of many Arab figures who belonged to Freemasonry at certain stages, such as Abdul Qadir Al-Jazaeri, Imam Muhammad Abduh, Abdul Rahman Al-Kawakibi, Sheikh Tahir Al-Jazaeri, Abdul Rahman Al-Shihabandar, and many others.
