The Mu'allaqat are among the most famous of what the Arabs wrote in poetry, and they were called Mu'allaqat. It has been said that they are called Mu'allaqat because, like precious necklaces, they are hung in minds. It is also said that these poems were written in gold ink and hung on the curtains of the Kaaba before the coming of Islam, and these poems are considered the most wonderful and most valuable of what was said in ancient Arabic poetry. Therefore, people paid attention to them, recorded them, and wrote explanations for them. They usually begin with mentioning ruins and the homes of the poet's beloved, and these Mu'allaqat are often dedicated to the poet's love for her.
