Ali Shariati is considered one of the most prominent pioneers of the Islamic movement in Iran and its thinkers. His efforts and ideas played a significant role in the ideological and political mobilization that preceded the Iranian revolution, to the extent that he was called in the circles of the people "the teacher of the revolution." Therefore, translating "Shariati" into Arabic and introducing him to Arabic readers was a major task, within the efforts made to translate the works of Iranian thinkers into Arabic. These efforts aim to revive and strengthen the close relations between our Islamic peoples—especially on the cultural level—after the periods of foreign domination and the control of fragmented and subordinate regimes created a gap between these peoples. Thus, the idea of preparing a brief study of Shariati's ideas came about, to be published along with selected texts from his writings. And while we do not claim that this study is sufficient, comprehensive, and free of shortcomings, we at the same time emphasize that its goal is to shed light on the main aspects of Shariati's thought, the circumstances in which he emerged, and the important theoretical and mobilization role that Shariati played through that thought. It is worth noting that the author, in reviewing Shariati's ideas, relied on all his published writings, lectures, and available articles and messages. As for the selected texts, he aimed for them to truly express Shariati's ideas. Therefore, he chose texts from his writings in which he expressed methodological ideas, especially the intense passages rich in meaning and accurately reflecting Shariati’s stance. When selecting passages or parts of a complete text, he was careful to ensure that they represented the full text or its summary, and that the excerpt was faithful to the original and to the overall message.
