Memory Police

A whole world built here by Yoko Ogawa piece by piece: an island where things and creatures disappear, and emotions fade away. Women and men abandon their memories or keep them secretly. Devices and organizations track memories and ensure their disappearance. It is a remarkable novel that succeeded in creating the paradox: building a world based on disappearance and erasure. Yoko Ogawa: a Japanese novelist who has won all the major Japanese literary awards. Published for her by Dar Al-Adab: The Swimming Pool, An Ideal Room for a Sick Man, and A Shoe for You.
