Isis Kobia is the pseudonym that May Ziyada used on the cover of her first poetry collection "Azahair Hulm" which she wrote in English and was published in Cairo in March 1911, to be her first literary work, but under a pseudonym, before she started publishing her works under her real name May Ziyada. And from here came the name of this novel, which seems like a long title for a bitter story narrated by Wasini Al-Araj about the last chapter in the life of May Ziyada, who was nicknamed the Queen of Inspiration, the Unique of the Era, and the Rare of the Age, among other titles given to her, but the one who granted her heart and sought refuge in her in her distress exploited her trust and obtained a power of attorney to manage her properties, and lured her from Cairo to Beirut accusing her of madness to have her admitted to a mental hospital in Lebanon! In the last decade of May's life, she did not publish books, but this novel assumes that she has lost manuscripts, and it starts from the journey of searching for them, to form her manuscripts in which she recorded the events of her days in the mental hospital, forming the narrative of the novel. Many stories reveal in May Ziyada's manuscripts not only her personal history but also bitter and painful truths, and publishing them was a great adventure!
