Product description
The story of an old house that is more than four centuries old. It has changed many times across different eras, from Andalusian to Ottoman, then French, and now in our current time. It was inhabited by lovers and killers, angels and devils, nobles and the vulgar, martyrs and traitors. The Urban Development and Modernization Authority wants to demolish it to build the Andalusian Tower, in order to absorb unemployment. Its last resident, Murad Basata, refuses to demolish the house that his Moorish grandfather, "Galileo El Rokho," built, who was expelled from Andalusia naked, except for the dream of constructing the Andalusian house for his beloved. The Andalusian house is an analogy for what has happened and is happening in the Arab world of self-destruction, and of a violent awakening of the miserable identities, and the dilemmas of settling modernity that remained more of a dream than a tangible reality.
