Explanation of the Prophetic Hadith

Because the place of the Prophetic Sunnah in the beliefs, rulings, morals, values, and perceptions of Islam is central; it is the second revelation, the purified example, and the correct understanding of Allah – تعالى. Therefore, it is no surprise that Muslims pay great attention to it: collecting and preserving it, writing and memorizing it, distinguishing between what is authentic from what is not, and understanding and deriving jurisprudence from it. And thus, the jurisprudence of the Sunnah and understanding the sayings of the Prophet came as one of the primary sciences of Islam, within a large foundation of its principles, and as a basis for understanding its beliefs, teachings, and guidance. A person's Islam cannot be correct except through the Sunnah, and through believing in the obligation to follow its commands and emulate its guidance. Therefore, the scholars of Islam paid great attention to understanding the Prophetic Sunnah and explaining its sayings, even more than their attention to the noble Quran. It became obligatory for students and scholars of Sharia sciences to study the methodology of explaining the narrations of the Prophetic Sunnah, to learn the steps of explaining it, to practice these steps practically, to know the books of explanation of the sayings and their methodologies, and to identify the distinguished ones and the aspects that distinguish them, as all of this is indispensable and cannot be neglected in seeking it.
