In the essence of language

The text we present to the Arab reader, a valuable text translation and presentation, is not familiar to the Arab reader with its contents or its unique style, as it differs completely from the thought promoted by Ferdinand de Saussure's linguistic theory through the book "Lectures on General Linguistics" attributed to him. The book "In the Essence of Language" is more advanced than the book "Lectures on General Linguistics," but at the same time, it is behind it. It is more advanced in terms of considering de Saussure's linguistic and semiotic thought formation, despite the slight difference among researchers regarding the period of its compilation by de Saussure; in any case, it predates the lecture period that de Saussure delivered between 1907 and 1911 at the University of Geneva. This book is considered an important stage in de Saussure's project aimed at revising the scientific foundations that linguistics should be built upon, and from this, we understand his description of this book.
