Product description
The author in this book aimed to establish the history of the emergence of Diriyah, its appearance on the stage of events, and to determine its position, as well as the history of the arrival of the ancestor of the ruling family there. The author was able, through reviewing the oldest manuscript in which the name Diriyah appeared; written in the middle of the 9th Hijri century, which predates the oldest known source by more than a century, to prove that the town's emergence is much older than previously known. The author also made great efforts to identify the locations and sites mentioned by historians that served as the stage for events in Diriyah, most of which are no longer known now; either because their names have changed or because the elderly who knew their exact locations have died. This book was thus a bridge for the reader to pass from history books and the distant past, whose signs have mostly faded, to experience the events firsthand in the land of reality, stopping at each historical landmark, sensing most of the events that took place there.
