The Lord Savile's crime

Do you believe in what is called "palmistry"? If you do, to what extent can you believe everything that a short, fat, bald man with puffed cheeks, staring at your palm through his large gold-rimmed glasses, predicts? As for Lord Arthur Savel, he did not doubt his faith for a moment, and he believed the palm reader with utmost conviction. In this breath-taking novel, we see how Lord Savel's life turns upside down, his day darkens, his night becomes more black, and his white hand appears stained with blood. Despite his passion for his beautiful fiancée, the miserable lord — who believed in his palm lines more than he should — postpones his marriage to her, waiting for the crime to happen.
