Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam are brief and philosophical Persian poetic pieces, consisting of four lines expressing reflections on existence, death, and the brevity of life. They are characterized by an artistic style that blends wisdom, doubt, and the call to seize the present moment (the cup and the flower), and are famous for their contradictions between the rebellious spirit and repentance. They gained worldwide fame after being translated by Edward Fitzgerald.
